TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring the Marksville community together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection, particularly around themes of women empowerment. These events are branded TEDx, where the 'x' signifies that it is an independently organized TED event. While TED provides general guidance, each TEDx event is led by individuals like Ashley Love, who are passionate about ideas worth spreading.
TEDxMarksville is an officially licensed, independently organized event based in the Marksville community of Louisiana. Ashley recognized the need for a platform where individuals from all walks of life could be seen, heard, and celebrated, not just in urban centers but in the heart of Louisiana. What began as a bold vision for TEDx events is now a reality that will continue to grow.
